THE DRAMA LEAGUE STUDIO LAB

OVERVIEW
Located in the Tribeca neighborhood of New York City, the Stewart F. Lane and Bonnie Comley Studio Lab is a private creative space for rehearsals, classes, readings, workshops, private events, and more. Less than two blocks from seven major subway lines, the Studio Lab offers unparalleled quiet and privacy for your creative imagination. The Studio Lab features plentiful amenities and a warm atmosphere; current date availability and reservation bookings can be accessed via Calendly. With hourly rates well below market, The Studio Lab offers discounted rates to artists to develop and showcase work, helping generative art thrive in New York State. The Studio Lab Rental Program is made possible by the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of the Office of the Governor and the New York State Legislature.

  • Space Capacity: 60 occupants maximum, including all participants: performers, collaborators, staff, attendees, and invited guests. Violation of the occupancy maximum will result in an additional $250 fine.
  • The Drama League is not accepting rentals for ticketed events at this time. 
  • The Studio Lab does NOT have a sprung floor, and is not recommended for heavy choreography or dance.
  • With dozens of artists sharing the Studio Lab in any given week, your rental dates, once confirmed, may be difficult to alter or reschedule. Rescheduling is at the discretion of management.  Please take care before placing your request. Due to the procedures of our building’s landlord, we are only able to offer public rentals during weekday hours above. However, Drama League Alumni and Members may explore rehearsal options available for weeknights (6pm-11pm) and weekends (9am-11pm) by emailing us directly at studiolab@dramaleague.org with your planned dates.
The Drama League Theater Center is located at 32 Avenue of the Americas in New York City, between Walker and Lispenard Streets in the Tribeca neighborhood. It is one block from the A/C/E subway lines, and two blocks from the 1/N/R/6 subways lines. Parking is available in a paid lot across from the building, but there is also street parking throughout the area.
