Each year, The Drama League offers workshops and social events for professional directors. Led by acclaimed experts in the field, our Workshops offer lifetime learning for busy professionals. DIRECTOR’S NIGHT OUT
EVENT: Directors Gathering: Directors’ Night Out

DIRECTING EPISODIC TELEVISION (Part I)
WORKSHOP: Directing Episodic Television with Jude Weng – PART ONE
DATE: Wednesday, October 29, 2025
TIME: 6-8pm ET/3-5pm PT
DURATION: Two (2) Hours

DIRECTORS PROJECT ALUMNI/DRAMA LEAGUE MEMBERS: $49
DESCRIPTION: Jude Weng — the prolific director of Only Murders In The Building, Frasier, Shameless, The Good Place and more — returns to lead this new two-part immersion into directing techniques for television. In Part One (online/Zoom), Jude will share directing for camera essentials, ways to break into the industry, tips on indie filmmaking, creating effective shot lists, working with a DP, what to expect on set, and more.

DIRECTING EPISODIC TELEVISION (Part 2)
WORKSHOP: Directing Episodic Television with Jude Weng – PART TWO
DATE: Saturday, December 13 and Sunday, December 14, 2025 (two days)
TIME: 9am-5pm (both days)
DURATION: 16 Hours (eight per day)
LOCATION: New York City (Address sent to participants)
GENERAL ADMISSION: $349
DIRECTORS PROJECT ALUMNI/DRAMA LEAGUE MEMBERS: $249
**NOTE**: Participants must first complete Part One to attend Part Two.)
DESCRIPTION: Going deep into the experience of episodic directors, PART TWO of this workshop gives every participant the opportunity to create shot lists, block scenes of actual television episodes, direct professional actors in on-set simulations, and receive individual feedback. Jude Weng — director of Only Murders In The Building, Shameless, The Good Place and more — will coach attendees through single camera and multi-camera scenes.
